ABOUT US
Pump Station Café first opened in October 2005. Prior to being a café, the building was Ken's Texaco, a gas station owned by Ken Tennis. Ken served in the U.S. Army in WWII as a cook in the Philippine Islands. Returning from war in 1946, Ken opened and operated Ken's Texaco for 46 years until his retirement in 1992. His wife Margaret owned the lamp shop two houses down on Boal Ave. Ken is honored as one of Centre County's Living Legends. Many people still come in PSC and say they remember Ken and his gas station where they used to come as a child.
Today, Pump Station Café is a very busy coffee shop in the heart of Boalsburg located at 103 Boal Ave. We are right next to the Boalsburg Military Museum where many customers love to walk around once they've got their hands on their favorite Pump Station beverage & food.
Open 7 days a week, Pump Station Cafe serves breakfast and lunch all day! We serve breakfast sandwiches with eggs, cheese, and your choice of meat on a bagel, croissant, english muffin, toast, or other option (wrap or gluten free bagel) along with other breakfast items. Check out our 'food' tab to view our menu! Lunch entails a variety of sandwiches of which our homemade chicken salad sandwich is by far the most popular. It is mixed with celery, craisins, and cashews. Includes a side of chips, piece of fruit, or macaroni salad.
Our baked goods are baked daily, right there in the cafe. We have muffins (blueberry, lemon poppyseed with lemon glaze, and a seasonal flavor), gluten-free blueberry muffins, cinnamon buns with or without vanilla glaze, cheese danish, chocolate croissants, cookies, scones, fresh baked regular and whole grain croissants, Bucks County Biscotti and more!
We buy our coffee locally and frequently from Standing Stone Coffee Company in Huntingdon, Pa & WC Clarke's The Cheese Shoppe in State College, PA to support local business and keep it as fresh as possible for the best tasting brew. As far as specialty beverages go, we can make pretty much anything you're looking for: lattes, cappuccinos, mochas, breves, macchiatos (caramel & traditional style), chai lattes, hot chocolates and more! Our tea is from The Republic of Tea. If you're looking for a frozen treat try a smoothie or a Brainfreeze (coffee, vanilla, strawberry, or cookies & cream, you can add extras like espresso and flavored syrups too!).
We strive for optimum customer service and will do whatever we can to make you feel happy and at home. With a small town feel where everyone knows your name, we are happy to get to know you!
Stop by and see what everyone's been talking about!
